As a Program Lead, Robyn makes sure the staff is supported in curriculum, behavior management, and day-to-day challenges while actively engaging with kids, parents, and the community to enhance both the educational value and fun factor of the program.
Whether she's troubleshooting with instructors or connecting with families, her focus is on creating an environment where everyone feels valued and supported.
Robyn brings a diverse skill set to her role. She's First Aid/AED/CPR certified and a certified peace officer. She currently works as an AVID tutor in the mornings, and during summer breaks, she serves as a Traveling Camp Director with Galileo, where she supervises hundreds of staff and scholars across 11 different camp sites stretching from Manhattan Beach all the way down to San Diego. On weekends, she volunteers with Big Brother Big Sister, spending time with her little on outings ranging from homework help and sports games to mini golf and Christmas carnivals.
Robyn is currently pursuing her bachelor's degree in Public Administration with a minor in Communications at California State University Dominguez Hills. Her long-term goal? Opening and creating her own nonprofit that helps marginalized youth.
Right now, Robyn is most excited about getting to know the kids and helping them grow in creativity, character, and life skills. "Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today," she shares, quoting Malcolm X. Her proudest moment happens every day: "Seeing all the kids I meet acquire new skills, traits, and fun memories."
Outside of work, Robyn loves trying new food places, baking, shopping at flea markets, and volunteering with her little at Big Brother Big Sister Los Angeles. And here's a fun fact: while she doesn't graffiti at all, she's extremely good at drawing it. She also holds a Seal of Biliteracy in French and is left-handed.
