As a program coordinator, Mia is the main point of contact for the SBCUSD. She oversees 8 school sites and 4 instructors. She coordinates with site leads and school administration to provide students with a quality STEM-based natural science curriculum with associated enrichment activities dealing with environmental education and gardening.

With a bachelor's degree in psychology and a 12-year background working in expanded learning programs, Mia has a passion for providing students with enriching activities after school. Mia strives to create meaningful opportunities for today’s youth.

Mia is excited to watch her instructional staff implement the AES environmental education curriculum into the various programs of SBCUSD. To inspire, engage and equip all individuals to believe in the possibilities is Mia’s personal mission. Mia shared, “It’s amazing to see how many students want to come and learn with us. They have so much interest and excitement to learn about our environment and all its elements.”

In her free time, Mia enjoys taking her daughter on little adventures and exploring new places with family.
