As a Program Coordinator for AES, Leesa supervises instructional staff, and assists in the delivery of experiential, science-based curriculum in after school extended learning programs throughout Fresno County Schools.
Leesa focuses on upholding the core values and mission of AES by effectively communicating and building positive relations with school administrators and Extended Learning Site Leads, while supporting her instructors to create positive learning environments and meaningful educational experiences for students.
As a previous instructor, Leesa thoroughly enjoyed bringing fun, creative, hands-on learning into the classroom and is most excited to encourage and support her instructors to do the same. She says, “Learning should be fun! Every student deserves to be learning in an environment that is fun, creative and dynamic, supporting their individual learning styles. It brings me so much joy to create these experiences for children.”
Leesa has a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a minor in Child Development/Early Childhood Education, along with over 20 years of experience working with students of all ages in various educational environments. Her passion for supporting the overall health and well-being of children and their educational experience is what motivates her.
In her free time Leesa enjoys spending time with her family and friends doing anything that involves cooking, music, and being in nature. Even better when it involves all three!
