Esmeralda Arango

As the Fresno Program Coordinator, Esmeralda works closely with school site leads and coordinators to ensure Adventure Education Solutions programs run smoothly.

She supervises instructional staff by checking in regularly, supporting problem-solving, and making sure they have the materials and guidance they need to teach with confidence. She truly enjoys what she does because she gets to support instructors while helping create positive, meaningful experiences for students every day.

Before becoming a coordinator for AES, Esmeralda worked as an instructor and had the opportunity to coordinate both winter and summer camps. She also worked as a certified nursing assistant for five years at a skilled nursing facility and spent some time as a substitute teacher. Through these experiences, she discovered that she truly enjoys working with people of all ages, whether older adults or younger students, and supporting them in meaningful ways. She holds both an A.A. and B.A. in Liberal Studies and is currently pursuing a higher education degree.

Right now, Esmeralda is excited about supporting her instructors and watching them grow in their roles. "I enjoy being on site, helping with classroom management, supporting garden lessons, and being a resource whenever they need assistance," she shares. "It's rewarding to see how our teamwork positively impacts students each day."

"I enjoy working in this field because I get to support the next generation and create spaces where students feel safe, happy, and excited to learn," Esmeralda explains. Her proudest moment? Balancing work and school to invest in her education.

Outside of work, Esmeralda enjoys hiking, trying different foods, and spending time with her family and friends. She also loves hanging out with her Russian tortoise. While she definitely keeps herself busy, she wouldn't have it any other way! Friends and family describe her as outgoing, hardworking, and caring. Her unique hidden talent? A strong ability to stay positive and solution-focused, even in challenging situations, which helps others feel supported and motivated.
